Our Hub-Based Model

Roots of Discovery is built on a flexible, hub-based model that allows science learning to adapt to the needs of different communities and spaces. Rather than following a single, fixed program, each hub operates with shared values—hands-on exploration, youth leadership, and place-based learning—while remaining responsive to its audience.

Our youth ambassadors are trained to lead and support science experiences across libraries, schools, and community settings, using adaptable activities that can stand alone or connect across programs when appropriate. This approach allows Roots of Discovery to grow intentionally, meet communities where they are, and offer meaningful science experiences without a one-size-fits-all structure.
